To kick start my first ‘real’ blog entry I decided to begin reading a book today and review it next week. What’s more, after a long time of thinking and unwittingly wasting hours going through my book selection, I decided to read and review ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’, written by Robert Galbriath.
So why this book, compared to the many other choices, you might wonder. For starters, unknowingly I felt naturally drawn to begin reading a book from the author that inspired my love for reading and writing. What is more, my choice of book lies with the author. No, not Robert Galbriath— as you might presume—but J.K. Rowling! Yes, J.K. Rowling, the worldwide known author who captivated and inspired a whole generation of children with her charming and spellbinding books.
Furthermore, it may be no news to you by now that J.K. Rowling wrote ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’ under the pseudonym ‘Robert Galbriath’. She did so to get away from her persona that revolved around Harry Potter. As J.K. Rowling stated on her website,” I certainly wanted to take my writing persona as far away as possible from me, so a male pseudonym seemed a good idea.” Such a great writer that she is, I believe she made the right choice in trying to get this new series as far away as possible from her other very successful franchise.
To wrap things up, I hope to finish and post a review for this book by the end of next week. Anyone that knows me will assure you that I am crazy fan of J.K. Rowling. However, I solemnly swear that I will not be biased with my review. Until next time, Auf Wiedersehen!
“It is impossible to fail at something, Unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all—in which case, you fail by default.” —J.K. Rowling
